Description of CourseThe Wailea Gold Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and is considered the most challenging of the Wailea Golf Courses. The Wailea Golf Club actually consistents of three 18-hole golf courses that are rated among the best in the world. These courses are the Gold, the Blue, and the Emerald. Each have spectactular views of the ocean, neighboring islands, and of Mt. Haleakala (a large volcanic mountain). Readers of Conde Nast Traveler have rated the Gold Course among the best in golf. The Gold Course features natural, rugged hawaiian terrain, with views of the ocean and humpback whales, and offers classic golfing conditions. There are old hawaiian lava rock walls and lava rock areas, slopes and gullies, Kiawe trees, and Hawaiian grasses to avoid on this superb course. |
